A Tale of Letters

We traced the tale of letters to its beginning, it all starts with a drop of ink.

The drop of ink splashes forming letters, words, books and stories; dashing thoughts in our minds, shaping lives, transforming ideas, building opinions, revealing truths and crafting cultures.

In the show, letters used are from Arabic, English and Japanese alphabets: portraying the UAE collaborations.

These letters then revolve encapsulating the choreographer; the 360 spin exemplifies how letters impact a reader’s life causing the explosion of ideas and creating the civilizations of the world which are represented in the show by world icons like Eiffel tower, Pyramids, Big Ben, UAE Fort…This history and culture is all embodied in a book that then rests on the SBA bookshelf revealing the SIBF logo.

Book titles then fly off, announcing the 2018 SIBF facts that gather again to form the SBA building – the organizing mastermind behind this bookfair, through which books are made available to people of the world.

The Choreographer starts running down a path, racing to SIBF, finally revealing a portrait of HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan Al-Qasimi, as the custodian of culture and unfolding this year’s theme ‘A tale of letters’ in inverted bright colors.
